PLATFORM: Custom CMS and OLO

CHALLENGE:

Papa Murphy's Pizza continues to rank in the Top 10 pizza chains in the US. Founded in 1981 in Oregon, they grew to over 1,500 franchise locations across America by 2018. However, they did not have the technology in place to offer online ordering, a key component of their digital transformation.

With 1,500 locations, the online ordering platform had to work with each location individually for optimal customer experience.

SOLUTION:

With a $10 MM budget, the CTO chose to work with Deloitte Digital to implement a customized Hybris platform for both the CMS and ordering integration with OLO POS. Unfortunately, that was not the proper solution for PMI and was a costly lesson learned that was shut down shortly after one year.

With a $2MM budget, we moved from an over-complicated Hybris development to a more effective out-of-the-box solution with OLO ordering platform. We partnered with an agency to develop a simple, easy to update, CMS for the front end of the website that hosts the content and connects to the OLO platform for ordering. It was a home run!

After launch, I managed the website and developed a new lifecycle email marketing program to engage with customers based on their purchasing behavior. We offered unique coupon codes to increase purchase frequency which resulted in 80% revenue growth within their email program.
